Dr. Sunayana Sarkar is an assistant professor at NMIMS Mumbai specializing in Carbon Sequestration, Carbon capture, and Afforestation. She possesses extensive academic credentials with ongoing research projects funded by DST and the G20 scheme. Currently, Ms. Sarkar leads an afforestation initiative in the Eastern Himalayas with Balipara Foundation, leveraging GIS and AI for sustainable forest management. She also serves as principal investigator for a BMC Mumbai landslide project. With 17 years in academia, her expertise includes Structural Geology, Geospatial Studies, Geo-diversity, Geo-heritage, and Geo-conservation. Previously, she taught at Rizvi College of Engineering and Sardar Patel College of Engineering in Mumbai.
